Delegating Access to Google Resources

Building or managing your site often means we need access to certain Google resources. Rather than sharing your username and password with us, Google lets you delegate access directly to our account. Below are the steps for each resource we might ask you for.

  1. Log in to search.google.com/search-console
  2. If you have more than one property, select the correct one from the top-left dropdown
  3. Click Settings (the cog icon towards the bottom left)
  4. Click Users and Permissions
  5. Click the blue Add User button
  6. Enter our Google email address and grant Owner permissions, then click Add

Google Analytics

  1. Log in to analytics.google.com
  2. If you have more than one property, select the correct one from the top-left dropdown
  3. Click Admin (the cog icon towards the bottom left)
  4. Click Account-level access
  5. Click the blue + symbol to add a new user
  6. Enter our Google email address and grant Administrator permissions, then click Add

Google Tag Manager

  1. Log in to tagmanager.google.com
  2. Select the correct account from the top-left dropdown
  3. Under the account name, select Admin
  4. Select User Management under the Container column
  5. Click the blue + symbol to add a new user
  6. Enter our Google email address and grant Publish permissions, then click Add

Google Business Profile

  1. Log in to business.google.com
  2. Select your business profile from the list
  3. From the Google search results page, click the three dots menu next to ‘Your Business on Google’ and select Business Profile Settings
  4. Select Managers and click Add
  5. Enter our Google email address with Manager access, then click Invite

Google Ads

  1. Log in to ads.google.com
  2. Click the spanner icon for Tools and Settings, then Setup, then Access and Security
  3. Under the Users tab, click the blue + symbol to add a user
  4. Enter our Google email address with Admin access, then click Send Invitation

If you get stuck on any of these, just let us know and we can talk you through it on a call.
