Maintain · Refresh · Retain

A website is not finished.
It is either looked after or left.

WordPress moves quickly. Core updates, plugin patches, search results that shift under you, content that quietly ages. We keep all of it in hand so you can get on with running the business.

01 / Three things, stacked

Maintain keeps it safe.
Refresh keeps it current.

Most clients start on Maintain and add Refresh once they see how much a stale site costs them. Retain is for anyone who wants proper time booked in each month.

The baseline

Keep it online, secure and quick

Everything needed to stop a WordPress site quietly falling over. Monitored, patched, scanned and backed up, with us doing the fixing rather than reporting the problem.

Right for almost every site we look after, including ones built elsewhere.

Security monitoring
Continuous watching for breach attempts. If a site on an active plan is compromised, we recover it.
Malware detection and removal
Regular scans, and we clean up and repair the damage if anything gets through.
Daily off-site backups
A copy every 24 hours, stored miles from your hosting servers rather than beside them.
Software updates
WordPress core, theme and plugins kept current, applied carefully and checked afterwards.
Uptime alerts
We hear about an outage before your customers do, and we act on it.
Speed checks
Load times reviewed so the site does not creep slower as content and plugins build up.
Maintain, plus content

Keep it moving, and keep it ranking

A set number of updates each month so the site changes, which readers notice and search engines reward. Content is the difference between a site that earns and a site that just exists.

Right for businesses with prices, stock, events or offers that shift through the year.

New photography swapped in, cropped and compressed so it does not slow the site.
Testimonials and reviews
Fresh customer words added where they do the most good.
Blog articles
Written or edited and published, giving search engines a reason to come back.
Maintain and Refresh, plus hours

Time booked with us every month

Right for busier businesses, and for anyone who would rather not do site admin at all.

02 / What goes wrong when nobody is watching

Neglect rarely shows up as a broken site. It shows up as a quiet one.

Out of date plugins

Most WordPress break-ins exploit a known hole in an old plugin. The fix was published months earlier. Nobody applied it.

Slipping rankings

Search engines favour sites that change. A site untouched for two years drifts down the results while competitors who post monthly drift up.

Backups in the wrong place

Plenty of providers keep your backup on the same server as the site. When that server fails, both go together and the site gets rebuilt from scratch.

Content that dates you

Last year’s prices, a team member who left, a Christmas banner in March. Customers read all of it as a sign of how you run things.

03 / Time in the bank

Hours you can spend on whatever comes up.

A retainer books a set number of hours with us each month. Spend them on new pages, a product launch, a landing page for a campaign, or just a long list of small jobs you have been putting off.

You do not need to know in advance what you will use them for. You email, we get on with it, and you see where the time went in a short monthly note.

Works on sites we did not build. Inherited a site from another agency? We will take it on and look after it.
No hourly haggling. A fixed monthly figure, so you can ask for the small change without wondering what it will cost.
The same person each time. Darren already knows how your site is built, so nothing needs re-explaining.
“Darren came to the rescue when my hosting company pulled the plug. He worked quickly and had us back online within 24 hours, and went the extra mile to get it sorted.”

Before you commit to a monthly bill.

If a plan is not right for you, we will say so. A quiet brochure site with five pages may not need one.

No. You can email us whenever you need something and we will quote for the job. A plan simply makes it cheaper, faster and predictable, and it means somebody is watching the site when you are not thinking about it.

Yes, and a good part of our maintenance work is exactly that. We start with a review of how it has been put together and tell you honestly what state it is in before you commit to anything.

Text and price changes, new images, a new page, a testimonial, a blog article. If a request is genuinely a new build rather than an update, we will say so and quote it separately.

Realistically six to twelve months of steady work, not weeks. Anyone promising page one by next month is guessing. We report monthly so you can see the direction rather than take our word for it.

On an active Maintain plan we recover it. We remove the malware, repair the damage, restore from a clean backup if needed, and then close the hole that let it in.

Yes, monthly. No twelve month tie-ins. If you leave, you keep the site, the domain and the backups, and we will hand everything over properly.
